Holiday Shopping in Indianapolis
Just in case you didn’t finish your shopping in July, we have delightful ideas of how you can take care of the people on your holiday gift list! Museum Shops
When you visit the city’s museum shops, you’ll find gift items that are as unique as the people who receive them!
Cultural Crossroads at the new Indianapolis Airport Touch down at the new Indianapolis Airport (Col. H. Indianapolis Museum of ArtChances are you can’t afford a Rembrandt, but after seeing his paintings at the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA), visit the gift shop and discover plenty of creations that are within your budget. The IMA Store features a unique selection of jewelry, pottery, textiles, glass and stationary items, many featuring reproductions from the IMA's collections. In addition the new IMA Design Center (opening Oct. 11) will feature delightful, innovative and design solutions for anyone’s everyday life, including tableware, textiles, furniture, home accessories and jewelry made by contemporary European and American designers and major manufactures.
Indiana History CenterRemember the infamous leg lamp from “A Christmas Story?” Visit the Indiana History Center to see the lamp, then stop by Basile History Market and purchase one for the eccentric individual on your list! The Market is also the place to find those uniquely Indiana pieces: literature, art, jewelry, books and more! On Dec. 6, buy holiday gifts and get books signed at the fifth annual Holiday Author Fair, featuring more than 90 talented Indiana authors and works of fiction, non-fiction, history, poetry and more.
Conner PrairieConner Prairie is a nationally acclaimed living history museum with a gift shop full of its own gems, like heirloom seeds and gourmet foods including jams, soups and old-fashioned candy. It’s also stocked with wool skeins and other textiles from its loom house, as well as the popular Conner Prairie pottery.
Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western ArtSpeaking of pottery, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art operates an award-winning store, White River Trader. Indianapolis Art CenterLocal artists share their wares at The Frank M. Basile Gallery Shop at the Indianapolis Art Center. Indiana State MuseumThe Indiana State Museum’s gift shop offers two floors of products from Indiana artisans and businesses. You’ll find L.S. Ayres Tea Room cookbooks, Vera Bradley totes and purses, Amish goods, South Bend chocolates and IMAX films on DVD. New this year, visit The Chocolate Shoppe, a unique shop that is part of the Indiana State Museum’s temporary exhibition “Chocolate.” Tempt the taste buds of those on your shopping list with Indiana-made chocolates, featuring 30 types from the South Bend Chocolate Company, and more than 50 other varieties, as well as martini chocolates, mood chocolates and exotic chocolates like lavender chocolate, applewood smoked bacon chocolate, Mexican chipotle chili chocolates and much more!
The Children's Museum of IndianapolisLooking for toys that teach and stimulate creativity in young minds? At The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, if you can imagine it, you can find it! From a kaleidoscope kit or chemistry set to interactive board games and books, you’ll find something engaging your curious youngster.
Indianapolis ZooThe animal lover in your life will do flips when you give them an opportunity to interact with the dolphins at the Indianapolis Zoo! Purchase a gift certificate for the Dolphin In-Water Adventure and your loved one will go waste-deep in water with the trainers and the zoo’s dolphins. Also, check out the Indianapolis Zoo Store for unique items from Africa, including authentic drums handmade in Kenya and hand-carved statues. James Whitcomb Riley Museum HomeThe romantic on your list will love something from the James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home. The gift shop sells beautifully illustrated reproductions of books of poems by the famed Hoosier who published 1,044 poems during his lifetime. You can also find toys from the late-Victorian era in which Riley lived.
President Benjamin Harrison HomeSeat your guests for a holiday dinner at a table dressed with White House china. The gift shop at the President Benjamin Harrison Home offers 12 presidential china patterns including designs from the Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Harrison administrations. Pieces may be purchased individually or by the place setting. The shop also offers a wide variety of patriotic gift items. The Fashion MallA visit to The Fashion Mall at Keystone is the ultimate shopping indulgence. Boasting a luxurious line-up including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co., Sephora, BCBG and Crate & Barrel, even the most discerning shopper will be enchanted this holiday season. Several unique and locally owned shops are also located inside The Fashion Mall on Indy’s north side. 
Circle Centre
Spanning two full city blocks and four levels, Circle Centre sits in the heart of downtown Indianapolis and is home to more than 100 specialty shops, dining and entertainment options.
