It's sophisticated. It's swanky. It's so New York. It's Cabaret. New York City boasts the Oak Room in the Algonquin, Feinstein's at Loews Regency and Cafe Carlyle. Indianapolis can now claim The Cabaret at the Columbia Club. Located in the historic Columbia Club on Monument Circle in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, The Cabaret presents the finest national and local cabaret performers in an intimate and sophisticated setting. The Cabaret's elegant atmosphere invokes the art deco era when swanky supper clubs flourished --an era when Hoagy Carmichael could still be heard playing jazz on the grand piano, as he did in the 1920s in the Crystal Terrace where The Cabaret's performances take place today.
Throughout the season, several of our nationally acclaimed performers will offer master classes to high school youth and the general public, providing local participants the opportunity to hone their craft with the finest of practitioners in the genres of Broadway, the Great American Songbook and cabaret. Also, in an effort to seek out new and emerging talent, as well as to provide performance opportunities for those still honing their cabaret skills, The Cabaret will host several open mic nights.
The Cabaret is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to elevate the cabaret art form; attract, develop and retain high quality local performance talent; and provide a unique and important contribution to the city's artistic and cultural life.
Ticket prices range from $35-$55 and are available at www.TheCabaret.org or by calling the box office at 317.275.1169.
