Take This Quick Attendee Quiz. (Note: All Answers Will Be Accepted.)
1. Are your attendees on expense accounts or strict budgets?
2. Do they love to get out and do stuff, or sit around and talk about stuff?
3. Does the word “culture” excite them or make them yawn?
Excellent.
No matter how you answer, there's something for your conventioneers here.
Low-price-but-popular chain restaurants (from Subway to Quizno's) sit a few doors away from high-end very-few-in-the-country chain restaurants (from Palomino and Oceanaire to Weber Grill and Fogo de Chão). And of course, there's our one-of-a-kinds: for example, St. Elmo's and its “cousin” restaurant, Harry and Izzy's—at either one you can experience what the Travel Channel called “World's Hottest Meal,” the famous St. Elmo's Shrimp Cocktail.
A short walk from any of our downtown hotels is White River State Park: so if it's cold and rainy, that's where you'll find activities ranging from the NCAA Hall of Champions to the nationally renowned Eiteljorg Museum of Native American and Western Art. And if it's nice out? Running, strolling, paddle-boating and the renting of Segways and bikes are all right there. That's not to mention Victory Field, the Minor League ballpark Sports Illustrated called the nation's best.
Do your attendees like to get rowdy at a club? That's down the street. Do they prefer live original music, blues, cover tunes, or dance beats? Do they like a dark, intimate bar? Over that way. Are they young, and need to stay away from the more adult venues? That's great. There's plenty to do. If nothing else, they can spend all their extra time in our four-story downtown shopping mall, cruising between the nine-screen United Artists movie theater and Hollister or American Eagle. Or maybe they're more the Nordstrom type?
