Where to Meet
Where to Meet
First, we expanded our facilities by constructing the massive Lucas Oil Stadium (home of the Colts, and host of Super Bowl XLVI). Now, we’ve connected that stadium to the expanded Indiana Convention Center—doubling its size and creating one of the nation’s largest convention centers.
As Meeting News Magazine observes, “The long-awaited opening of Lucas Oil Stadium officially marked the starting point for a cavalcade of downtown infrastructural changes designed to transform ‘the Racing Capital of the World’ into a first-tier convention city.”
Combined, Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium provide:
At the Indiana Convention Center, you get 566,300 square feet of contiguous exhibit space in 11 exhibit halls, 71 meeting rooms, 48 docks, three ballrooms, excellent configuration flexibility, and any or all of the absolute latest technology. Sagamore Ballroom offers 33,000 square feet of column-free space. It can accommodate up to 3,400 guests theater-style.
At Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, there’s 183,000 square feet of contiguous convention space encompassing the field and two exhibit halls, plus 12 meeting rooms, 11 loading docks and party spaces. Its retractable roof can bring in the sky, or be closed in 15 minutes should the weather turn inclement. There are 63,000 permanent seats with adjustable capacity for up to 73,000 people, and an outstanding view of the skyline.
With nearly 1 million square feet for meetings and exhibits, the Indiana Convention Center-Lucas Oil Stadium complex—connected by a climate-controlled walkway—is also flexible enough for events that need only a small fraction of that space.
And it’s all a short 3 blocks from Bankers Life Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers, which has a seating capacity of 18,345.

A successful meeting is mostly about servicing meeting planners and delighting attendees—but it’s also a successful meeting if its environmental impact is kept at a minimum.
Food. An Indianapolis-based organization called Second Helpings reclaims food after a banquet and takes it to kitchens at their facility to be distributed to homeless shelters and missions, reducing waste and feeding the community.
Recycling. Aluminum cans, palettes, paper, and cooking oil used at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium are recycled.
Paper Products. We’ve created our own line of biodegradable, disposable serviceware products. Also, paper towels and tissues are 100% recycled material.
Cleansers. Green Seal-certified cleaning products are used throughout the facility.
Sustainability. Catering uses milk, cheese, and yogurt from a local organic dairy farm, as well as local produce.
Energy Savings. We reduce lighting and HVAC in unoccupied areas of the building and in exhibit halls during move-in and move-out. Meeting rooms and lobby areas use compact fluorescent lamps, and exhibit halls provide more efficient lower-wattage lamps with the same light output. And Lucas Oil Stadium saves energy with CPI Daylighting system and fans designed to move the maximum amount of air with minimal energy consumption.
Water. We provide water stations in place of bottles for attendees. Sink faucets and low-flow toilets also reduce water waste. For clean-up, all parking lots are swept—not sprayed.
Ground Transportation. Having your meeting in Indianapolis means less shuttling, less commuting, less time stuck in traffic idling car and bus engines. Less exhaust puffing out of vehicles stuffed with impatient attendees reduces your carbon footprint.
