‘Doing Indy’ Asks Viewers To ‘Show Us Your Indy’
“Doing Indy” wants you.
Entering a third season, the award-winning video podcasts produced by the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association will be relying on greater viewer input for subject matter.
The initiative is titled, “Show Us Your Indy.”
“Who knows better than our residents and those in the hospitality industry the people, places and things that make Indianapolis unique and special,” says Seth Hancock, the ICVA’s video production manager and host for Doing Indy episodes. “ICVA’s marketing efforts have centered on the question, ‘This is my Indy, what’s yours?’ and now we hope to involve viewers and website visitors in answering that question.”
Anyone who wants to suggest a topic for an upcoming segment can log on to www.indy.org, click on the “Doing Indy … Show Us Your Indy” icon and follow instructions.
The Season Three debut episodes of Doing Indy, featuring the Dolphin Encounter at the Indianapolis Zoo and Gusto Pizza in Fountain Square, are now posted on www.indy.org.
In 2006, the ICVA was the first convention and visitors bureau in the nation to produce and broadcast regular/weekly video podcasts. It has since received local and national awards for the broadcasts, which can be found also on iTunes and YouTube.
The mission of the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association is to advance Indianapolis tourism and economic growth. The ICVA seeks to increase the number of visitors and their financial impact, expand positive perception of Indianapolis and positively influence the visitor experience. According to a Global Insight report, in partnership with D.K. Shiffllet & Associates, 21.9 million visitors annually provide $3.56 billion in total annual economic impact of tourism on the Indianapolis economy resulting in 66,621 full-time equivalent employment positions in the hospitality industry.
