Go here for the chocolate. Period.
You might have to see it to truly believe it, but there really is more than chocolate at the Chocolate Cafe on Monument Circle! A recent visit for lunch, however, confirmed that chocolate is what this place does best. I'm not saying the lunch fare is bad; it's just that the chocolate is so good! It is a shame (a crime?) to fill up on a mediocre deli sandwich and not be able to enjoy every last bite of what I refer to as a "chocolate masterpiece."
For lunch, my guest and I tried different sandwiches (the veggie and the peppercorn grilled Caesar chicken salad). Both were quite tasty. However, when our server delivered our sundaes (enormous creations of two complementing ice creams, whole chocolate turtles, pecans, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry topper), we both broke out into bursts of laughter. Together, the sundaes could have fed the first and second rows of a BMV waiting room!!
Bottom line, the sundaes were as delicious as they looked. And, surprisingly, they did not cost as much as they could have. However, they would have been enjoyed even more on an empty stomach. I admire the staff's desire to feed the lunch crowd, but with so much sandwich competition in the area, Chocolate Cafe might be best to offer only what they do best - CHOCOLATE.

Ice Cream experience
We were there over the 4th of July. We ate there twice. It was good ice cream. Even on the 4th when it was so busy, the staff was so friendly and quick to get your order done. It was so good so we went back the next day. Go and experience it right across from the monument, easy to find.
