When considering the superior quality (every time) and taste of the food, consistently outstanding service (family style), charming, one-of-a-kind atmosphere and reasonable price - there is NO DOUBT that Hollyhock Hill is the best overall restaurant in Indianapolis!

We took about a 45-minute drive to get there. Our food was late, they forgot our order, we sat there with the vegetable tray forever with many, many of the waitresses milling around never asking or noticing. There was something wrong with our waitress; she never did come back to the table. The others had to pitch in when they weren't busy to wait on us for refills etc. It was horrible! The soup was disgusting: tomato soup right out of the can. The chicken was cold when they finally brought it and apologized for us sitting there for 45 minutes waiting. The hostess was really ancient and rude. Decor is dated and it smelled musty in there. Tables are so crowded together you can't walk between them and the waitress serves you from the side passing all the food over your head! You can plainly hear everyone's conversations around you, since you are sitting with your tables touching. The men's restroom is very small, almost unusable. Overall, a disaster on our special occasion, my birthday!
