We enjoyed a fine dinner at McCormick and Schmic'ks. I ordered a crab cake appetizer that was light and flavorful, if a bit overpowered by the coleslaw accompaniment. My guest enjoyed a field green salad, especially the bleu cheese and sugar-coated walnut toppings. My gumbo, which seemed more like etouffee, was excellent. Interestingly, on the check it was marked as etouffee, so in all honesty I'm not sure what I ate. I do know it was good. My guest ordered a petite filet mignon, which was cooked medium rare, though medium was requested. While the quality of meat did not rival the best steak houses in town, it was served with broccoli, mashed potatoes and a grilled tomato, making the $27.95 price quite reasonable.

I enjoy the great atmosphere and food selection. My favorite waiter Bob Y is TOPS!

We enjoyed our dinner at McCormick & Schmick's. Our food was very good but not over the top. Prices are average to high for a downtown Indianapolis restaurant. The service was average and for this I was very disappointed. For the meal prices you should expect MUCH better service. I felt the meal was very rushed. The main course arrived while we were only half way through our salad. We had early reservations (5:45pm) so I can understand that they were only 25% to 50% full of dinner guests at the time, and the server didn't want to keep the dinners under the warming lights, but perhaps the server could have been more vigilent and submitted the main course order later as we continued our salad. Having a toddler at home, we don't get to eat out often and seldom on our own. I was looking forward to a more leisurely dinner. Not to be found at McCormick & Schmick's. We would however eat here again as the food was very good.
