Although I'd heard some bad things about the service being slow and the noise level being high, I didn't experience either of those negatives on this visit. The waitress was attentive and happy to answer questions about the menu, drinks were refilled and food arrived at the proper temperature and in a fairly short time.

I went to Barcelona with a fairly large group and had a great time. It may not be the place for a private date, but the food is good and if you have a lot of people you can order a lot and share it, as tapas are meant to be served.

We had a great time! The food was wonderful. Because the portions are small (and priced accordingly) we were able to sample several items and loved each. We plan to return and work our way through the menu. A nice unique find!

My husband and I were on vacation and we are always looking for unique places to eat and we certainly found it at Barcelona Tapas! The hostess was attentive even though her feet hurt and the waiter was pleasant . We ordered drinks then we stated with three tapas. They were delicious. The waiter came by again and we continued to order more. It was a VERY pleasant experience. We completed our meal with two desserts, one of which was creme brulee which was like silk. The hot chocolate was a great ending to this meal. We would definitely recommend Barcelona Tapas to anyone who wants to try a relaxing meal. Yes, it is downtown and yes, there is a shelter down the street; but, it didn't matter to us. There was plenty of traffic going by to make you feel safe.

I frequently pay for meals for groups of co-workers who are meeting in Indy. Indy has many great restaurants, but I was particularly impressed with the low-cost, great atmosphere, variety and good food with Barcelona.

Although there is a lot of variety, the tapas are just average. I've been about 5 times and ordered similar appetizers everytime but tapas are not prepared consistently. Twice they ran out of bread. Dining in the evening is VERY noisy so if you go with a large group be prepared to shout. Prices seem high for the value.

My buddy and I are from central Ohio. We stayed in Indy before traveling to Illinois the next day for a November Buckeye game, and decided to try your restaurant before. We came on a busy Friday night and waited patiently for a hostess. When she came we told her we wanted a table for two. She walked off and said what we thought was, "Wait a minute." She walked over to a booth at the other side of the restaurant while we waited. She turned back and looked at us with an odd smile. She returned, went up to the woman behind us, smiled too widely, and said to the woman, "These two gentleman apparently don't want to be seated right now, can I help you?" They walked off. My buddy and I left in disgust. It was the worst experience either of us have had at a restaurant. We were shocked. The hostess seemed awfully proud to embarrass us, even though we simply misunderstood her. Do not visit this place and encourage this arrogant and abrasive behavior. Avoid it at all costs.

This place was not that good for food or service. It was loud and near a homeless shelter.
