The exhibit explores how Presidents have traveled by train: John Quincy Adams in 1830; Andrew Jackson in 1833, the year Benjamin Harrison was born; Harrison's 1891 train trip of 10,000 miles, which went through the south and west, making a large loop through the country. Many of the hundreds of gifts presented to the Presidential party on the trip will be displayed in this exhibit,, including Mary Lord Dimmick's diary, plus ribbons, banners, rock and ore samples, photos and albums, invitations, certificates, menus, silk, newspapers, silver plaques and more.
