The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, a nonprofit institution committed to enriching the lives of children, is the largest children's museum in the world. The more than 400,000-square-foot facility houses eleven major galleries that explore the physical and natural sciences, history, world cultures and the arts.

The Children's Museum is a place to learn and do. Whenever possible, exhibits are "hands-on" or participatory in nature. The Children's Museum strives to be one of the vital links in the lives of children as it supports their intellectual curiosity and love of learning. The museum, situated on 14 acres of land in Indianapolis, presents thousands of programs and activities each year.

Tire out the kids!
We LOVE going to the Children's Museum. With free parking and so many different exhibits, it's a great way to spend the entire day (and tire out your kids).

FUN
The Museum is great for preschoolers! The food court is a huge waste of time and money. Bring your own lunch and eat somehing decent.

Our Trip to the Children's Museum was a BLAST!!
There was so much to see & do!! Our son LOVED the Christmas slide so much that he went down it twice! Each & every exhibit that we went to was really something to see. We really liked talking with the paleontologist. He had a lot of information on fossils & dinosaurs. The way that the dinosaur exhibit was set up... it felt like you were back in time. The dinosaurs were so close! There is something for everyone young & old alike. Our son liked the 4th floor water exhibit and we went back to it a second time. A great time was had by all! Thank you for a great trip!

Fun for Young and Old
This is definitely one of the best children's museums out there. There are 5 (or 6, I can't quite remember) floors all filled with pretty fun exhibits. You really do have to move pretty quickly to see everything before closing time though. The carousel if pretty overrated but it is beautiful and the exhibit I liked most was Take Me There: Egypt. The Star Wars exhibit is particularly lame and if you don't want to be depressed it is best to avoid the tolerance section (somewhere around the 3rd or 4th floors).Overall it was very fun and the gift shop had some fun/affordable things. :)
