The 500 Festival was created in 1957 to organize civic events celebrating the success of the Indianapolis 500 and has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation. Events include the 500 Festival Parade, Mini-Marathon and 5K, Kids' Day, Mayors Breakfast, Community Day and Memorial Service. This year's theme is "Spirit and Speed: Celebrating 50 Years of the 500 Festival."
