In need of some retail therapy? Lifestyle centers, area malls and specialty shops in local attractions and museums are located in all four corners of the city. So, whether you’re looking for familiar retailers or that one-of-a-kind gift, shopping in and around the city is convenient and abundant.
Area Malls & Lifestyle Centers
Clay Terrace
Discover shopping sophistication at Clay Terrace. An eclectic array of high-end fashion and food retailers come together in this old-town Main Street setting. Specialty shops include White House Black Market, Vera Bradley, Pier 1 Imports, Indigo Nation, Jos. A. Bank and Chico’s. Delectable dining waits in Clay Terrace, too. Enjoy casual or fine dining in a variety of full-service restaurants or sidewalk cafés. Clay Terrace is located on Indy’s far north side in Carmel.
Metropolis
An open-air lifestyle center in Plainfield boasts a city within a city, complete with shopping, dining and entertainment. A 90,000-square-foot JCPenney, a two-story Dick’s Sporting Goods and 18-screen Rave Theater movie complex anchor Metropolis. Nearly 60 stores, including Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, Ann Taylor Loft, The Finish Line and Stone Creek Dining Company call Metropolis home on Indy’s west side.
Circle Centre
Spanning two full city blocks in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Circle Centre is filled with four levels of shopping, dining and entertainment. Anchored by Carson Pirie Scott and one of Indiana’s two Nordstrom stores, it is home to more than 100 specialty shops including Banana Republic, Godiva Chocolatier, Coach, H&M, Express, Origins and Abercrombie & Fitch. Grab a bite in the food court or sit down for dinner at one of the mall’s full-service restaurants before catching a movie at the United Artists Theatre. Also, check out Steven Spielberg’s GameWorks Studio or relax with a free arts performance at the Indianapolis Artsgarden.
The Fashion Mall at Keystone
The Fashion Mall at Keystone, on Indy’s north side, is the center of upscale shopping in Indianapolis. Anchored by Indiana’s only Saks Fifth Avenue, The Fashion Mall is home to 95 other specialty shops, including one of the nation’s first Williams-Sonoma Home stores, Brooks Brothers, Pottery Barn, bebe, J. Crew, Crate & Barrel and Tiffany & Co. Shoppers will also find several unique and locally-owned shops. After a day of shopping, head to the Keystone Art Cinema & Indie Lounge, known for showing first-run independent and foreign films and restored classics.
Castleton Square
This mall on Indy’s northeast side, the largest in the state, is anchored by Von Maur, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sears and JCPenney. Castleton Square is also home to more than 130 specialty shops including Limited, Eddie Bauer, The Children’s Place, Aveda Lifestyle Store and Build-A-Bear Workshop. When hunger strikes, shoppers will delight in the mall’s Garden Café Food Court.
Greenwood Park Mall
Greenwood Park Mall is anchored by department store favorites JCPenney, Macy’s, Von Maur, Sears and Dick’s Sporting Goods. In addition, shoppers will find more than 135 specialty stores and restaurants at this south side mall, including Old Navy, C.J. Banks, Ann Taylor Loft, Victoria’s Secret, Hollister Co. and Club Libby Lu. Satisfy your hunger for shopping and then stop by the food court to satisfy your appetite or catch a movie at AMC Theatres.
Washington Square
Located on Indy’s east side, Washington Square is anchored by Sears, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Burlington Coat Factory and features more than 100 specialty shops. Take in a movie at Kerasotes Showplace 12, a state-of-the-art theatre with stadium seating, digital sound and curved screens for a maximum viewing experience.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis
If you’re looking for toys that teach, check out The Children’s Museum Store. You’ll find something for kids of all ages, from collectible dinosaur replicas and amber jewelry made from fossilized tree sap to a variety of developmental and learning toys and games.
Conner Prairie
The museum shop at Conner Prairie, a nationally-acclaimed interactive history park, features heirloom seeds and gourmet foods including jams, soups and old-fashioned candy. It’s also stocked with wool skeins and other textiles from their loom house, as well as the popular Conner Prairie pottery.
Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art

Indiana Historical Society

Indiana Repertory Theatre
The Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) provides a unique shopping experience with whimsical, theatrical and intellectual choices. Gift items include unusual decorative pieces, books, jewelry and accessories, fun toys for all ages and autographed scripts of the season’s plays.
Indiana State Museum
At the Indiana State Museum, you’ll find two floors of unique gift items, many from Indiana artisans and businesses! The Museum Gift Shop is filled with L.S. Ayres Tea Room cookbooks, Vera Bradley purses and totes, chocolates from the South Bend Chocolate Factory, IMAX films on DVD and more.
Indianapolis Art Center
Local artists display their wares at the Basile Gallery Gift Shop. You can choose from the handmade pottery, paintings, glass, photography and jewelry. Or, place a special order with the artist. Anything goes - from getting a necklace accented with your favorite color to commissioning two dozen ceramic pieces as corporate gifts.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Make a pit stop at the Official Trackside Gift Shop, inside the Hall of Fame Museum, at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. You’ll find exclusive collector items, including bricks from the original track, die-cast cars, flags, buttons and pictures of your favorite drivers dating all the way back to 1909. There is also a wide variety of t-shirts, key chains, pins and caps.
Indianapolis Museum of Art
At the IMA Store, choices include everything from hand-loomed scarves and 'artsy' outerwear to glassware, custom note cards, puzzles and jewelry. Stop by the Lilly House Shop for a selection of stationary products and books or the Greenhouse Shop for unusual perennials, houseplants and gardening tools. You never know what you’ll find down the road at the Better than New Shop. Friends of the IMA donate china, jewelry, crystal, silver, antiques, furniture, clothing and books to be sold for the benefit of the museum.
Indianapolis Zoo & White River Gardens
The Indianapolis Zoo Store has unique items from Africa, including authentic drums handmade in Kenya and hand-carved statues. There are also plenty of plush animal toys and masks from which to choose. Little ones can explore new worlds with a "safari" hat or the latest in educational books and games about plants and animals.
The casual gardener will find plenty of gardening “toys” and home décor items, as well as a wide variety of fun, garden-themed merchandise at the Garden’s Pride Gift Shop at White River Gardens. The more discerning gardener will discover the tools and information necessary to achieve a high level of gardening success. The Shop’s selection of books, stationary, artwork, candles and soaps, apparel, children’s toys, games and souvenirs offers something for everyone in the family.
James Whitcomb Riley House
Visit the James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home Gift Shop for beautifully-illustrated reproductions of poem books by the famed "Hoosier poet." There are also toys from the late-Victorian era in which Riley lived.
NCAA Hall of Champions
Check out the NCAA Hall of Champions Campus Corner Gift Shop where you’ll find officially-licensed NCAA merchandise, including a complete clothing line, specialty gifts, books, videos and more.
President Benjamin Harrison Home
The gift shop at the President Benjamin Harrison Home offers 12 presidential china patterns, including designs from the Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Harrison administrations. Pieces may be purchased individually or by the place setting. The shop also offers the Flowers of the First Ladies collection, dessert plates decorated with the floral artwork of the First Ladies and books on presidential homes.
