Wholesale District

Front and Center

Bright lights and marquees highlight the best performances in town. Doormen in tuxedos greet guests. Circle Centre mall delights the most meticulous shoppers. Bustling sidewalks overflow with excited visitors taking in the scenery. Monument Circle rises high and welcomes all.

You're in the Wholesale District in Downtown Indianapolis. For a night (or day) out on the town, you've come to the right place!

Amid Downtown's historic buildings and newest skyscrapers in the heart of the business district, you'll find the biggest names and the brightest attractions the city has to offer. Whether it's world-class shopping, professional sports or concerts and theater, it's here among the finest hotels and signature dining. In the Wholesale District, entertainment is front and center.

It's home to Conseco Fieldhouse, hosting the Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever and world-renowned concerts and performances such as Eric Clapton, Cirque Du Soleil, Big Ten Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments and other events.

The Super Bowl-Champion Indianapolis Colts will strut their stuff in the brand new, retractable-roofed Lucas Oil Stadium which will also play host to NCAA Basketball Championship games, the Coca-Cola Circle City Classic football games and other one-of-a-kind events.

Welcome to the Main Event

The internationally-acclaimed Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performs 200 concerts each year to an audience of more than 350,000 people.

Two blocks away, the Indiana Repertory Theatre, the only fully-professional not-for-profit resident theater in the state, beckons culture seekers to its beautifully-renovated 1927 historic site featuring uplifting and thought-provoking performances, as well as just plain fun.

What's more, the Wholesale District claims Circle Centre, a unique two-block, four-story shopping, dining and entertainment powerhouse with the only Nordstrom in the state and Parisian as department store anchors. The attached Indianapolis Artsgarden is an attraction in itself. The unique glass-domed structure rises seven stories above street level and holds countless free public performances and exhibits every year.

Add to these blockbusters more than 75 exquisite restaurants including The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Palomino and legendary-favorite St. Elmo Steak House; more than 10 nightspots such as the Slippery Noodle Inn, Ike & Jonesy's and Howl at the Moon; 13 first-rate hotels including the Canterbury Hotel, Conrad Indianapolis, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, Hyatt Regency and Omni Severin; endless shopping and the city's icon - the Soldiers and Sailors Monument and Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum ... You've got everything you need for a memorable, Downtown Indianapolis adventure.

Welcome Home

Now, more than ever, people want to be in the heart of the action 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week. Residential options are abundant in the Wholesale District. Trendy lofts and condos, including the new upscale Conrad Indianapolis Residences, Six Over Meridian and Meridian Lofts, or apartments such as The Block, Janus Lofts and Shoemaker Flats, are in high demand.

With all there is to do year-round, residential growth is sure to continue. Residents and visitors alike enjoy far more than shopping, entertainment and dining. The district boasts several of the city's largest annual events, including the Circle of Lights - presented by the Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW 481- traditional holiday lighting ceremony the day after Thanksgiving.

The 500 Festival Parade heads straight to the Wholesale District for all to see. Monument Circle is a popular location for summer festivals including the Strawberry Festival in June.

In addition, a kickoff to the performing arts season happens each September, showcasing the district's fabulous cultural productions, restaurants, hotels, night life and amenities. Searchlights, red carpets and stanchions welcome everyone to "the main event."

All in all, the Wholesale District is a vibrant destination where the business deals get done during the day, and the celebrations and memory-making happen at night.
